For this year’s Global Clean-Up Day, our incredible team around the world gathered to show their love for planet earth and make a positive impact on their local communities. On April 24th, in celebration of Earth Day, volunteers participated in hundreds of combined hours of clean-up across 22 locations. Clean-up sites ranged from beaches to city streets, parks, gardens and trails across the U.S. to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
In Los Angeles, 40 members of our Palisades, Brentwood, Venice, Malibu and Beverly Hills offices gathered to beautify Will Rogers Beach, collecting just over 108 pounds of trash.
Out in Arizona, The Agency Scottsdale partnered with McDowell Sonoran Conservancy to meticulously remove ecosystem-disrupting invasive plants from the region’s McDowell Mountain Range.
Out east, our Boston team members took to Southwest Corridor Park and Titus Sparrow Park, where they bagged up more than 125 pounds of garbage and found a brand new guitar—which was donated to a local charity.
In Mexico, The Agency Los Cabos headed to El Tule Beach and tidied up the scenic shoreline. In NorCal, our Los Altos and Los Gatos teams cleaned up local Rengstorff Park, while Seattle agents took to Bellevue Botanical Garden to tidy walkways for visitors.
In Maryland, The Agency Washington D.C.’s Managing Partner, Nurit Coombe brought her dog Donna along to join in on the team’s North Chevy Chase Local Park clean-up. Donna ended the day covered in dirt—and definitely digging the philanthropic vibe. The region’s 29 volunteers racked up just over 100 pounds of trash.
In the Bahamas, our local team took to Jaws Beach, committing 36 total hours to gathering 116 pounds of trash, which they sorted to be recycled or disposed of. “I would say the highlight was getting to spend time together as a team outdoors, while benefiting the community,” said The Agency Bahamas’ Managing Partner, Danny Lowe. “It was helpful to organize the garbage into distinct piles so that we could have a better sense of what we had collected. Although we still have a ways to go as a humanity in terms of maintaining a clean planet, it felt nice to do our part today. We look forward to more initiatives like this.”
Out on the West Coast, The Agency’s Sherman Oaks and Studio City teams trekked down Ventura Boulevard from one office to the other, collecting a whopping 250 pounds of litter—the most of any team this year. Notably, this is the second year in a row our San Fernando Valley volunteers have dominated Global Clean-Up Day and collected the most trash of any office. Well done, team!
Below are the final numbers achieved by The Agency’s amazing team members across the globe. We’re so grateful for everyone who participated in this year’s clean-up effort!
