Jerry Hooker is a Partner of Mirador Group, an integrated architectural firm encompassing all aspects of commercial and residential architecture. With Jerry’s expertise in the industry, he quickly ascended to his partner role after joining the firm in 2011. Prior to Mirador Group, Jerry spent three years in New York City honing his design skills on prestigious projects such as the National 9/11 Memorial, World Trade Center, World Financial Center, and the Bette Midler New York Restoration Project.
Jerry brings to Mirador Group a multi-disciplinary expertise with an elevated focus in leading his team of architects, landscape architects, and interior designers as one to realize his projects. Mirador Group is afforded the unparalleled ability to provide a holistic approach to its design projects as a result of Jerry’s talents. His skill and passion for all aspects of design unifies his projects, resulting in a cohesive aesthetic that embodies what has now become his signature style. This approach serves clients well by allowing Mirador Group to be a single point of contact throughout every step of its projects, allowing for the seamless, unified execution of each client's vision.
Currently Jerry serves as the visionary behind some of Houston’s most luxurious condominium developments, most notably The Sophie at Bayou Bend, an exclusive private city estate overlooking Bayou Bend Gardens, and Giorgetti Houston, the venerable 120-year-old Italian furniture makers’ first totally luxury-branded real estate project. In addition, Jerry and his husband, real estate entrepreneur Jacob Sudhoff, CEO of Douglas Elliman of Texas, collaborate on development projects including new homes, condos, and renovation projects.
In early 2018, Jerry expanded upon his design portfolio as the creator and co-owner of CASA, an exclusive Italian furnishing and finishes design destination in Houston. At CASA, internationally-renowned, high-end brands such as Giorgetti, Poltrona Frau, Rimadesio, Listone Giordano, Viabizzuno, Tacchini, as well as others, debut their collections, many for the first time in the United States, under one roof. Created to be the turnkey solution to achieving a luxurious European lifestyle, the 10,000-square-foot retail and design destination features a collection of these select brands that elevate room interiors to unrivaled levels of sophistication.
At both Mirador Group and CASA, Jerry’s creative focus results in an increased demand for his projects, contributing to greater returns for owners, developers, and investors.
Jerry and Jacob recently renovated a 1909 historic home in Houston’s exclusive Courtlandt Place Historic District, of which they won a Good Brick Award for their efforts. The two also enjoy traveling the world looking at homes, hotels, furniture, landscapes and all things of architectural interest.
