With more than 25 years of real estate experience, Gus Ruelas is a respected industry leader, accomplished broker, and consistent top-producing agent whose career has been defined by strategic growth, trusted relationships, and an unwavering commitment to service. As Managing Partner of The Agency Austin and The Agency Pasadena, Gus brings extensive leadership experience and a unique understanding of two of the country’s most dynamic real estate markets.

Before joining The Agency, Gus served as Executive Vice President of Pacific Union International, where he was responsible for overseeing 22 offices representing more than $12 billion in annual sales. During his tenure, he played an integral role in building high-performing teams, developing new offices, mentoring agents, and helping expand the company’s presence throughout Southern California. His experience leading at scale gives him an exceptional understanding of every aspect of the real estate business—from brokerage operations and agent development to sophisticated negotiations, marketing strategy, and client representation.

In 2018, Gus partnered with The Agency to establish the brand’s Pasadena presence. Drawn to the company’s collaborative culture, global reach, innovative marketing, and boutique approach to client service, he recognized an opportunity to bring a new level of energy and sophistication to the Pasadena marketplace. Under his leadership, the office has grown around a culture of professionalism, collaboration, integrity, and genuine care for clients and colleagues.

Today, Gus also contributes his leadership and experience to The Agency Austin, helping connect clients, agents, and opportunities across California, Texas, and The Agency’s global network. His knowledge extends far beyond individual transactions. He understands how to position distinctive properties, navigate complex markets, identify opportunities, and guide clients through important financial and personal decisions with clarity and confidence. Whether representing a buyer, seller, investor, or developer, Gus approaches every relationship with discretion, sound judgment, and a long-term perspective.

Originally from Tijuana, Gus immigrated to the United States with his family as a child and grew up as one of eight siblings. His upbringing instilled in him the values that continue to shape his life and leadership: resilience, gratitude, humility, faith, and a strong work ethic. Those qualities are evident in the way he serves his clients, mentors real estate professionals, and builds teams where people are encouraged to grow and succeed.

For Gus, real estate has always been about more than properties or transactions. It is about helping people create stability, navigate change, and move confidently into the next chapter of their lives. He is passionate about developing agents, strengthening communities, and building a legacy measured not only by the business he has generated, but also by the people he has helped rise along the way.

Deeply committed to the Pasadena community, Gus has served on the advisory board of the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation. Outside of real estate, he values time with his family, staying active, and remaining connected to the communities he serves. He resides in Pasadena’s Linda Vista neighborhood with his wife and children.
